The electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 to other high value-added chemicals under ambient conditions is a promising and ecofriendly strategy achieve sustainable carbon recycling. However, the reaction (CO2RR) still confronted with large number challenges, such as overpotential low product selectivity. Therefore, rapid development appropriate electrocatalysts key promoting electroreduction. Over past few decades, Au-based nanocatalysts have been demonstrated be for selective CO2RR CO owing their overpotential, good selectivity, Faraday efficiency inhibition hydrogen evolution reaction. In this respect, review first introduces fundamentals electrochemical then focuses on recent accomplishments respect CO2RR. manipulation various factors, e.g., nanoporous structure, nanoparticle size, composition, morphology, support ligand, allows identification several clues excellent nanocatalysts. We hope that will offer readers some important insights catalyst design provide new ideas developing robust electrocatalysts.
